XMPP console clients are powerful since they can utilizes common tools in the OS to do incredible things. This however is very dangerous when they are controlled by strangers on the net. Thus, regardless of your choice of application, patch to limit the commands and features that are available from upstream are very necessary to prolong the life time of your system.
If you still can find ways that would kill the host or any other security holes from patches published here, please let me know.
